Building a Bankroll

The purpose of building a bankroll is to create for yourself a large safety net and to make it possible to move up in stakes and earn even more money than you do now. It may sound as simple as “win money, add it to bankroll,” but there’s a little more to building a bankroll than that. If you approach bankroll building with a concrete plan of action, you will get a lot further a lot faster.

There are many casual poker players that approach the game on a daily basis. These players would like to work their way up to the big stakes, but they don’t actually focus on building a bankroll. They simply make a deposit, play for a few days and then withdraw it all. There’s nothing wrong with that, but that’s not how long term winners approach the game.

If you want to build a bankroll, you have to sit down and make a conscious decision to do exactly that. Make a plan of how you will build your bankroll and then go out there and make it happen. Set short term and medium term goals and then do not make a single withdrawal until you reach those goals. You will get there faster than you think.

How to Build a Poker Bankroll Quickly

The early stages of building a bankroll are always the most difficult. This is when it’s easy for things to go wrong and send you home packing. Fortunately, there’s a way to build your poker bankroll quickly: get as many poker bonuses as you can.

When I first started building a bankroll, I went around looking for every poker bonus under the sun. I then methodically went through each poker site, got its bonus and then continued on to the next site. Along the way, I also managed to earn a little extra money at the tables.

And that brings me to another point. You really need to make sure you are a winning player before you can build a bankroll. If you lose money at the tables (even if it’s not much), you will not ever build a stable bankroll. Poker bonuses can get you off to a great start, but there are only so many bonuses out there. Plus, you will eventually want to move up to stakes where poker bonuses are small compared to your natural earnings.

So before you even think about building a bankroll, you will need to learn proper poker strategy. Once you have established that you can earn a positive return at the tables, then you can focus on building a bankroll. It’s sort of like learning to walk before attempting to run.

Bankroll Building with Bonuses

Poker bonuses are the perfect way to build a poker bankroll quickly. When you’re first getting started, you should start out with the smallest bonuses first and then move up from there. Poker bonuses are one-time-only deals, so you do not want to waste large deposit bonuses when you do not yet have enough money to max it out. Start out with smaller poker bonuses and then move up after you have the bankroll to hit larger bonuses. That way you get the most bang for your buck.

Once your bankroll hits the $1,000 mark, you will be ready to hit the bigger bonuses. At that point, you will see massive gains in relatively short order. With a $1000 bankroll, you can deposit at any of our top recommended poker rooms and basically double your bankroll with one bonus. Hit up a couple of these $1,000 bonuses and you’ll be sitting with a $4,000 bankroll in no time.

At that point, you will want to slow down for a while and make sure you are still winning money at the tables. The games get progressively harder as you move up in stakes, so you will want to make sure you are doing everything you can to maximize your win rate. Keep getting those bonuses while you’re at it, and you’ll have a sizable poker bankroll before you know it.
