Absolute Poker Promotions
I’ve always been a big fan of Absolute Poker promotions because it seems like they are always changing and always generous. It’s always fun to mess around with poker site promotions – especially the ones that reward you for play and specific results. The list of Absolute Poker promotions changes on a regular basis so you’ll want to check with the Absolute Poker website for the most up to date information.
As a member of Absolute Poker, you will automatically have access to all these promotions. Some of these promotions are simple reload bonuses, others are special tournaments and others are contests. Here’s a quick overview of a couple of Absolute Poker’s promotions:
Use the referral code APCASHNOW for a $500 deposit bonus
1. Absolute Poker Deposit Bonus
The first promotion you’ll get to take part of as a player at Absolute Poker is the initial deposit bonus. With this bonus, Absolute Poker will match your first deposit there by 150%. All you have to do to get this bonus is sign up with the referral code APCASHNOW and the bonus money is yours.
When you first get this bonus, the bonus money will be listed as pending until you clear the bonus. This is done simply by playing in real money ring games or tournaments and earning AbsolutePoints. You can find our more the Absolute Poker referral code page.
2. Power Hour
All players earn twice as many AbsolutePoints when they play during special “power hours” at Absolute Poker. These AbsolutePoints can help you clear your deposit bonus, earn special prizes and help you get free items from the VIP Store. All you have to do is play poker during the following hours:
- Weekdays & Saturdays: 1 AM to 4 AM ET and 1 PM to 4 PM ET
- Sundays: 1 AM to 4 AM ET and 1 PM to 5 PM ET
The VIP Store at Absolute Poker has a bunch of really cool things you can purchase with your AbsolutePoints. For example, a few of the more valuable items include a 63” plasma TV, an Apple MacBook Pro, NFL tickets, UFC tickets, concert tickets and an Xbox 360. There are even more things to choose from but that should give you a good idea.
3. The Fame Club
This is the name of Absolute Poker’s VIP program. As you play in real money games at Absolute Poker, you automatically earn Status Points and AbsolutePoints. Status Points determine your level in the Fame Club and AbsolutePoints are used to buy items from the VIP store. As you move up in levels in the Fame Club, you receive special benefits free gifts.
Some of these benefits are things like being able to trade in your AbsolutePoints for cash (up to $1,000 extra month) and earning 5% interest on your entire account balance. The more you play, the better the benefits. At the lower levels, you’ll get access to special freerolls, reload bonuses and the ability to create your own tournaments. There are even more benefits but you can visit the Absolute Poker website for all the details.
4. 7-2 Action Tables – 7 Deuce Tables
The Seven Deuce action tables at Absolute Poker introduce a new element to otherwise normal cash games. The premise is simple: each player pays a little extra money to a side pot when they buy in at the table. Then if any player wins a pot while holding the hole cards 7-2, that player wins the entire side pot. It doesn’t matter if the cards win the showdown or if you bluff your way to victory. Just win a pot while holding 7-2 and you’ll win the side pot.
This little mix-up changes things quite a bit more than you would think. Players have an incentive to play the game’s worst poker hand and bluff their way through pots. It also provides an opportunity to bluff when the board shows sevens and twos.
5. Step Tournaments
Step tournaments give players a chance to win free entry to the World Series of Poker for just $0.10. There are 10 levels in step tournaments and players can win their way up through the levels. Players can buy in at any level and work their way up from there. The winner of the level 10 tournament will get free entry and travel to the WSOP.
Players who take 1st and 2nd place win free entry to the next step, while the 3rd and 4th place players can repeat the current step for free. The fifth place player gets moved down to the previous step and everyone else loses out altogether. So as long as you can out last half the field in each tournament, you’ll never have to start from scratch.
6. Bad Beat Jackpot
At all the specially marked bad beat jackpot tables, a small portion of each pot is taken out and added to the bad beat jackpot. Then when a player suffers the bad beat of a lifetime, that player wins the bad beat jackpot. With hundreds of these tables running all the time, the bad beat jackpot can get very big very quickly. I’ve seen jackpots go off for more than $800,000.
When a player triggers the bad beat jackpot, the money is spit up in several ways. Right off the bat, 25% goes to reseed the next bad beat jackpot and 10% goes to the house. Out the remaining amount, 50% goes to the bad beat victim and 25% goes to the winner of the hand. Every one else at the table gets $1,000 and the remaining money is split equally among all the players who were playing at the same stakes and game types.
7. Refer a Friend
The refer a friend feature pays you $75 every time you send a player to Absolute Poker. Your friend will also get an additional $50 bonus for having been referred by you. On top of that, the top 50 referrers every month $1,000 freeroll entries for themselves and their friends. These freerolls lead up to a larger one in which a $14,000 trip package is awarded. Absolute Poker will pay your $75 bonus after your friend deposits at least $50 and plays in 200 real money hands (raked $0.50 or more).
